Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Do you ever want to find the person who decided that ‘multi-tasking’ was the standard for life and have a heartfelt conversation with them? While we are at it, we can invite the one who decided that if you cannot do a multitude of things at the same time, you are a failure, or if you miss a step in your list of task completing duties, like forgetting an appointment, even though you have a dozen reminders all over the place. You forget a bill because you have lost track of what day it is. You failed to complete a report that is required daily because your mind was focused on something else.

I am a multitasker … to some degree. However, I have learned in my elderly Ish years, that multitasking in some areas is not wise. Daily I am reminded that I do not have the memory I once did, so consequently, I will forget something. Something of importance. Something with a deadline. Something of significance. When I realize what I have done, I come down hard on myself, especially in these last few months. The upswing of this particular situation is that something always happens to remind me of what is truly important.

Keeping my eyes on Him.

Whatever it is that you are going through. Whatever it is you are struggling with. Whatever it is that you have forgotten. Whatever it is that you messed up. Whatever it is … keep your eyes on Him. He will give you the answer that you need. He will provide you with a way to navigate the chaotic circus you are in. He will hold you close and love you unconditionally … regardless of how the situation looks, He is there with you.

The enemy will whisper in your ear that you are a failure. The enemy will tell you that you are worthless. The enemy will tell you that it is your fault. The enemy will do whatever he has to in order to make sure you stay down. But the Holy Spirit, will give you a hug and say, “My child, we will walk through this together.”

Multitasking has its place. Such as if you are waiting for the water to boil for your pasta, you can empty the dishwasher. You are waiting for a file to download, sign some nightly paperwork from the night before. You are waiting for a call back, and you have some chores to work on. Simple items. We were not designed to take on fifteen huge tasks at the same time. But we do it because we think we can. On the days that you miss the mark of accomplishing all your tasks, give yourself some grace. Brush yourself off. Take a deep breath. Know that He is with you and you will get the assignments completed. It just might be a bit longer than expected.

If you notice that you are missing the mark more frequently, you might want to examine your task load and see exactly what you can let go of so that you give your best to a smaller list. We are only designed to work so hard, yet society has deemed it necessary to make us feel that if we are not doing it all … we are lazy. That is not the case at all.

Today, I encourage you to evaluate what is on your honey-do list for yourself. Examine it closely. What on that list is really out of your wheelhouse and look to give that/those tasks to someone else. There is no shame in asking for help. This is a lesson I am learning.

Be blessed.
