Think On These Things
As you go throughout your day, does your mind tend to wander? Do you find it hard to focus because your thoughts are a million miles away? If so, evaluate where your mind goes. What are you thinking about? Where do your thoughts travel in the most unguarded moments? These are important questions to ask yourself because what you think about is a strong indicator of what is most important to you. Are you thinking about your family, obsessing about your work, or how you are going to pay your bills? How much time do you spend dwelling on spiritual things? God doesn't want you to spend your time worrying and fretting about your problems. He wants you to trust Him with your trials, pain, and heartache, knowing He will see you through. He also wants you to have good thoughts, keeping your mind focused on Him. If you find yourself thinking about things that are pulling you away from God, then it's time to push the reset button by reading God's Holy Word and start filling your mind with things that are pure and true. Prayer and Bible study are the best ways to get your thoughts focused in the right direction. The Bible says in Philippians 4:8, "Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Text: Proverbs 4:26, Isaiah 26:3, Luke 21:34, 1 Peter 1:13
