𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 ✍️ “𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬—𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵.” Words disappear as fast as they’re spoken. We have all seen it—promises broken, trust faded, post deleted, and statements twisted. Our culture is loud but not always honest. A careless word can undo years of credibility. And the question is not about whether we speak, but about whether our words are built to last—or destined to crumble. What we say reveals what we are made of. 🕮 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟏𝟐:𝟏𝟗 declares, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘱 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳: 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘭𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.” Solomon, known as the master builder, contrasts two voices: truth endures; lies expires. History confirms it—empires fall, narratives fade, but truth remains. What is rooted in truth survives time, trials, and testing. In a world where deception spreads fast, this verse reminds us that “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘱 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳.” A lying tongue—whether bold deceit or casual exaggeration—“𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.” It may win applause today, but it leaves ruins tomorrow. Lies gain attention; truth gains trust. God calls His people to speech that reflects His unchanging character. Scripture is consistent: truth-filled speech reflects the nature of God Himself. “𝘛𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏𝟕:𝟏𝟕). When our words align with truth, they carry stability and integrity (𝐄𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟐𝟓). We speak for “𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘦” (𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝟏:𝟐), for “𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘦” (𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝟐𝟑:𝟏𝟗). The Bible also warns that careless speech destroys what truth builds. “𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘦” (𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟏𝟖:𝟐𝟏). “𝘓𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋” (𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟏𝟐:𝟐𝟐). Lies are like cheap glue—they hold briefly, then fail. Truth, like mortar, binds strong and steady. Jesus Christ is the perfect picture of words built to last, for He said, “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏𝟒:𝟔). His words never wavered, never deceived, never failed. When our words flow from Him, they endure. Our speech becomes lasting, and does not crumble with time only when shaped by Christ, the Truth, who endures forever. So ask honestly: are your words built on the shifting sand of opinion, or on the Rock of God’s truth? Will your speech still stand when time runs out and eternity begins? You cannot speak lasting truth apart from Christ. Let Him govern your tongue today—because only truth spoken through Him is truly 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, teach me to speak words rooted in truth. Guard my tongue from deceit and my heart from compromise. Let my speech reflect Your character and build trust in those around me.
