𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 ✍️ “𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘳𝘶𝘯𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯, 𝘎𝘰𝘥’𝘴 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯.” Have you noticed how joy can vanish without warning? One message, one bill, one disappointment—and suddenly your heart feels empty. Life drains joy faster than we can refill it. But here’s the truth we forget: joy doesn’t come from perfect days, but from a perfect Saviour who never stops giving. Grace doesn’t just save—it fills, and joy overflows. John declares this rich truth in 🕮 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏:𝟏𝟔: “𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦.” He writes of Christ’s incarnation—the eternal Word stepping into a broken world, not empty-handed, but overflowing with divine fullness for weary souls. “𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦” means grace piled upon grace—wave after wave. Not borrowed joy. Not shallow happiness. Not leftovers. But joy rooted in Christ’s inexhaustible supply, freely given to believing hearts that keep coming back for more. Scripture teaches that joy flows from grace, not human effort. David prayed, “𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯” (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟓𝟏:𝟏𝟐). Jesus promised, “𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏𝟓:𝟏𝟏). Paul commanded, “𝘙𝘦𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺” (𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟒). Joy is not a mood—it is the fruit of grace received. This joy marks the believer’s life. Justification brings peace (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟏). Sanctification brings confidence that God finishes His work (𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏:𝟔). Fellowship with Christ produces “𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺” (𝟏 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟏:𝟖). As the saying goes, “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘯”—𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠. The same Christ who fills empty hearts still fills weary souls today. Jesus is “full of grace and truth” (John 1:14), and from Him we keep receiving. Just like the fleeting joys mentioned at the start fade fast, His joy remains. Grace upon grace leads to joy upon joy—anchored in Christ, not circumstances. So, where have you been looking for joy lately—your schedule, your success, or your surroundings? Joy isn’t found by chasing happiness but by receiving grace daily. Come again to Christ’s fullness. Will you stop striving and start receiving—grace upon grace, joy overflowing? 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, thank You for the fullness found in Jesus. Fill my heart again with grace upon grace, and let Your joy overflow in my life.
