Christianity Beyond Religion
Bible Text- Acts 11:26.
Going to church does not automatically make someone a Christian.
In the days of Jesus, the most religious people were the Pharisees and the Sadducees. They knew the Scriptures, prayed in public, and occupied important religious positions. Yet Jesus rebuked them because their hearts were far from God.
Religion can exist without true transformation.
In the Book of Acts, something remarkable happened in Antioch. The disciples did not give themselves the name “Christians.” The people around them watched their lives carefully — their conduct, their humility, their love, and their devotion to Christ.
After observing them for one whole year, they finally called them Christians. (Acts 11:26)
Why?
Because their lives resembled Christ.
True Christians are not defined merely by church attendance or religious activity. They are people who have died to self, to the world, and to its systems.
They live in the world, but they are not controlled by the spirit of the world.
They understand they are pilgrims passing through this earth. Their minds are set on eternity, and their true citizenship is in heaven.
Christianity is not about appearance. It is about transformation.
