Life Is a Gift
Far too many take “life” for granted, especially those who are young and still trying to figure out how they fit in this great big world. But the days have a way of turning into years very quickly, and in a blink of an eye, you’ll find yourself looking at the reality that more than half your life has been lived and there is but a short time left. Of course, it doesn’t seem possible because wasn’t it only yesterday you were looking at the gray-haired people and couldn’t even imagine being that old? It is usually at this point, you look in the mirror and realize that the person looking back isn’t even someone you recognize! Your memory isn’t what it used to be, you have aches and pains, and your opinion doesn’t seem to matter very much. Reality forces you to evaluate and take stock of your life, thinking of past accomplishments as well as the regrets. You know, those things you wish you hadn’t done, should have done, or had done differently. But the biggest regret of all is waiting until the end of your life to realize you need a Savior; that you had gone through your whole life just going through the motions of being a Christian. Whatever is done for self will pass away, but what you do for Christ... will last forever! Life is a gift from God, and how you choose to live it will determine whether or not you’ll spend eternity in heaven! Time is running out, so don’t wait any longer, choose today to serve Jesus! Text: John 14:6, Isaiah 59:1, Psalm 89:47
