Selfless Living
Christians should always strive to be more like Jesus! He treated others with love, kindness, humility, and respect. If Jesus was on earth today, He wouldn’t be yelling at the car who just took His parking space, gossiping about others, pushing Himself to the front of the line, or any other self-centered behavior. He was always thinking of His fellow man, not Himself. The best way to win hearts for Jesus is to follow His example. When someone is grumpy, show them kindness. When you’re disrespected, let it go, and when you are wronged, forgive. In all things, do as Jesus would do and return good for evil. The Bible says in Romans 12:17, “Never pay back evil for evil to anyone, Respect what is right in the sight of all men.” And in Proverbs 20:22, we’re told, “Do not say, "I will repay evil"; wait for the LORD, and He will save you.” God makes it very clear how He expects His children to act in this verse found in Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Just imagine how much better this world would be if everyone followed this advice - and practiced “selfless living”? Text: Romans 12:9-13, Galatians 5:22-23, John 13:34-35, Luke 6:31
