LET'S TALK ABOUT IT
THE UNPARDONABLE SIN:
How a Heart Becomes Deaf to God.
There is much confusion about the "Unpardonable Sin," but the Bible explains it clearly. It isn't a one-time mistake; it is a process of spiritual hardening.
How is the heart hardened?
It happens through a specific, dangerous cycle: Rejecting Truth to believe Error.
The Holy Spirit points you to a clear instruction or truth found in the Bible.
Because the truth might be inconvenient or require a change in lifestyle, we say "no" to that prompting.
To feel okay about our "no," we find a lie or a false teaching to justify ourselves. We choose to believe an error over the Word of God.
Every time we choose a lie over the Bible, we push the Holy Spirit away. Eventually, the heart becomes so hard that the voice of the Holy Spirit—the only voice that can lead us to repentance—can no longer be heard.
2Th 2:11-12 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
This is the final result of pushing God away. When someone refuses to "love the truth," they eventually fall under a strong delusion where they believe a lie is the truth. They aren't just "wrong"—they are settled in their error and can no longer recognize the Spirit's call.
How to Guard Yourself:
The Bible is the Only Test: We must test every thought, feeling, and "spirit" by the Word of God. If it is not in the Bible, reject it. The Holy Spirit will never lead you to do something that contradicts Scripture.
Prompt Obedience: When the Bible shows you a truth, follow it immediately. Don't let a "no" sit in your heart; that is how the unpardonable sin starts.
Love the Truth: Ask God for a heart that loves the Truth more than personal opinion or comfort.
Remember:
If you are worried about your standing with God and are searching the Scriptures for answers, your heart is still soft. You can still hear Him! The only sin that cannot be forgiven is the one we refuse to bring to the light of the Word.
