DAY 16 Of Lent – The Towel and the Basin
Scripture: Gospel of John 13:14–15
Heavenly Father,
On this Thankful Thursday morning, I come before You with gratitude in my heart. Thank You for the example of Jesus, who knelt with a towel and basin and showed us that true greatness is found in serving. Thank You for reminding me that leadership in Your Kingdom is not about position, but about posture — a heart bowed low in humility and love.
Lord, shape my heart to reflect Yours. Remove pride, selfish ambition, and the desire to be seen. Teach me to serve quietly, faithfully, and joyfully. In my home, let me lead with gentleness. In my family, let me lead with patience. In my community, let me lead with compassion. Make my hands willing to do the small things that carry great love.
Father, help me to see opportunities to serve instead of waiting to be served. Let my words build up, my actions reflect Christ, and my attitude display grace. When I am tired, strengthen me. When I am overlooked, remind me that You see every act done in love. Let my leadership look like Jesus — humble, sacrificial, and full of mercy.
Today, I choose the towel. Today, I choose the basin. Today, I choose to serve.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Declaration...
I am a servant leader in my home and everywhere God places me.
I lead through humility, patience, and love.
My leadership reflects Christ.
My service strengthens my family.
And my life glorifies God.
