Demanding Prayers.

Many Christians read books on the importance of prayer, and some even like to talk about how much they pray because it makes them appear more “Holy,” but prayer is much more than an emotional need or a way to “get things” that we want. The Bible says in 1 John 5:14, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” The best reason to pray is to have a closer relationship with your heavenly Father. When you love God with all your heart, every cell in your body longs to be close to Him, and the closer you become, “His will” becomes “your will.” When you understand the concept that God knows what’s best, you begin to understand the importance of praying “God’s will be done,” instead of putting demands and expectations in your prayers. Instead of hoping for the answer you want, pray with confidence knowing God has the perfect solution for every problem, and His timing is perfect. It is when you stop trusting in His divine power that you’re in trouble! Have you hardened your heart towards God because your prayers weren’t answered the way you wanted them to, or when you wanted? Have you become a “dictator” in your prayer life, demanding God to do what “you” want Him to? Ask God to forgive your hardened heart and give you an extra measure of love and trust. Through prayer, worship, and praise, maintain a constant connection with your Lord and Savior, and you’ll experience the true joy, peace, and security of belonging to Jesus. Text: James 5:13, 1 Chronicles 16:11, 2 Chronicles 6:21, Ephesians 1:18
