The Prodigal Son
The story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11–32 reminds us of something very human. A young man once asked for his inheritance from his father. He wanted freedom. He wanted to live life his own way. Maybe he thought happiness was somewhere out there in the world. So he left home and spent everything he had chasing temporary joy.

But life has a way of teaching us lessons we never expected. When the money was gone, the friends were gone too. What once looked exciting slowly turned into loneliness, hunger, and regret. In his lowest moment, he realized something powerful: the home he left was still the place where love existed.

With a humble heart, he decided to go back. Not as a son expecting honor anymore, but as someone simply hoping for mercy.

But the most beautiful part of the story is not the son returning.

It is the father waiting.

Before the son could even reach the house, his father saw him from far away. Instead of anger, there was compassion. Instead of rejection, there was a hug. The father ran to him, embraced him, and welcomed him home with love.

That is what God’s love is like.

No matter how far we go, how many mistakes we make, or how lost we feel sometimes, God never stops waiting for us. He does not close the door. He does not give up. He welcomes us back with open arms.

Sometimes we are the prodigal son. Sometimes we wander, we fail, and we learn the hard way. But the good news is this: God’s love is bigger than our mistakes.

You can always come home.

Luke 15:20
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”

No matter where you are in life right now, remember this truth:

God never gives up on you.
