THE BASKET OF MANGOES
One day, a man told his son to get some mangoes from the farm. The son went to the farm and brought only six mangoes. His father was disappointed, and his son was sad and disappointed.
The man said, “Son, I asked you to bring me some mangoes, but you brought these few mangoes.”
The boy replied, “Daddy, I thought you needed mangoes for your own consumption, that's why.”
“If I needed a few mangoes, I would have sent you to the garden instead.”
The boy went mute, and his father said something striking:
“Anytime an instruction is given, always ask about how to go about it when the way to go about it wasn't given.”
In the scriptures, we realise great personalities like Abraham asking GOD how this could be since he had no child (Genesis 15:2–3).
Moses asked GOD how this could be since he's a man with few words (Exodus 4:10).
Jeremiah asked how and what to say because he said he could not speak and was only a child (Jeremiah 1:6–7).
Mary asked how this could be since I am a Virgin (Luke 1:34).
Anytime instructions or prophecies come, don't just jump and start executing them, and don't just sit and postpone them. Ask GOD for clarity. Ask:
“HOW CAN THIS BE?”
“HOW SHOULD I DO IT?”
“WHERE SHOULD I DO IT?”
And be patient to listen. GOD is a loving FATHER that hears HIS children in love (Matthew 7:7–11).
