LET'S TALK ABOUT IT
When Jesus said,
“The gates of hell shall not prevail” (Matthew 16:18),

He wasn’t describing the church under attack.

Gates don’t attack — they defend.

“Hell” (Greek: hades) means the grave.

Jesus was declaring that death itself would not withstand Him.

The tomb could not hold Him.
The grave could not defend itself.

That’s why He later says:

“I have the keys of hell and of death.” (Revelation 1:18)

Christ didn’t barely escape death.
He conquered it.

And death will not hold those who belong to Him.
