Ecclesiastes 9:8 (KJV) Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.
One day, I went to the mechanic for some service. Later in the day, I noticed some oily marks at the side of the car; obviously, this was from a hand at the workshop. Though it can be cleaned, I was not pleased: this was just a brief thought that ran through my mind.
Soon after, the Spirit drew my attention to how we must be worried when our spiritual garments are stained with sin: Just as I was with the oil on the car.
We are mostly careless when it comes to staining ourselves spiritually and delay in taking action to get it cleaned. We mostly find nothing wrong going all day or more without asking for forgiveness of any wrongs done. We are comfortable with spiritual stains in our garments; whilst we have the cleansing blood of Jesus available to use.
The only detergent for our spiritual garments is the powerful blood of the Lamb: It washes whiter than snow, and it makes white garments new. The blood is our only cleansing agent if we indeed want to stay white.
We must not take stains for granted because any stain not dealt with can keep you from heaven. Let no one deceive you that it does not matter. God's word is clear about that.
May we do all we can with the grace to stay white in Jesus name.
