THE ADVENT TRUTH What exactly happens after the thousand years of Revelation 20? This is one of the most misunderstood parts of Bible prophecy — but Scripture is crystal clear when we let it speak. After the saints spend the millennium with Christ in heaven (Revelation 20:4–6), reviewing the books and confirming God’s justice (1 Corinthians 6:2–3), the next phase of God’s final plan begins. 1️⃣ The Holy City DESCENDS Revelation 21:2 — “The holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven…” The saved return to Earth — not as conquerors, but as witnesses to God’s ultimate restoration. 2️⃣ The Wicked are RESURRECTED Revelation 20:5 — “The rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.” This is what Jesus calls the resurrection of damnation (John 5:29). 3️⃣ Satan is RELEASED Revelation 20:7–8 — No longer alone on a desolate planet, he deceives the resurrected lost into one final rebellion, surrounding “the beloved city.” 4️⃣ The GREAT WHITE THRONE Judgment Revelation 20:11–13 — Every knee bows (Philippians 2:10–11). Even the lost will confess God was fair, loving, and just. No one will be lost wondering why. 5️⃣ Hellfire — But God’s Way Revelation 20:9 — “Fire came down from God out of heaven.” Hell doesn’t burn forever in some cavern underground. It happens on the surface of Earth — real people, real consequences — but not eternal torture. The fire consumes (Malachi 4:1–3), bringing a merciful end to sin and suffering. 6️⃣ New Earth — The Grand Restoration Revelation 21:5 — “Behold, I make all things new.” This scorched planet becomes Eden restored — the saved living with Jesus forever (Revelation 22:1–5), no more pain, death, or tears (Revelation 21:4). The final message of Revelation isn’t destruction — it’s HOPE. God isn’t just removing sinners — He’s removing SIN. Satan said God was unfair. The Cross exposed his lies. The millennium reviews God’s justice. The New Earth proves God wins through love.
