Choose Your Canoe
It’s impossible to “walk with Jesus” and “hold hands with the devil!” You simply cannot possibly be a follower of Christ by attending church, then do whatever you want the rest of the week, drinking, gambling, cheating, gossiping, or any other sin against God. The Bible says in Joshua 24:15, “Choose you this day whom ye will serve.” God says that we must make a choice! We are either “for Him” or “against Him.” We can’t be wishy-washy or straddle two canoes! We must decide. Are we serving God or Satan? There is no in between. The Bible warns us about how God feels about “lukewarm” people. In Revelation 3:16 we’re told, “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” It doesn’t get much clearer than that! Jesus is coming soon, and there is no time to go out and sample worldly pleasures then, just in the nick of time before Jesus comes, decide you’ll serve God! It just doesn’t work that way! The main reason we should want to go to heaven isn’t because we don’t want to go to hell! Not at all! Our reason should be that we love Jesus with all our hearts and we want to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior! Don’t wait any longer.
