Thankful Thursday Morning Prayer – Lent Day 23
Theme: When Temptation Knocks
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

Heavenly Father,
This Thankful Thursday morning we come before You with grateful hearts. Thank You for waking us up today, for the gift of life, and for another opportunity to walk in Your grace. Lord, we thank You because You are faithful in every season of our lives.
Father, Your Word reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that temptation may come, but it will never overpower us because You always provide a way of escape. Thank You for being a God who protects us, strengthens us, and guides us away from the traps of the enemy.
Lord, when temptation knocks at the door of our hearts, give us the wisdom to recognize it and the strength to resist it. Help us not to lean on our own strength, but to depend on the power of Your Spirit within us. Strengthen our minds so we think pure thoughts. Guard our hearts so we desire what pleases You. Direct our steps so we walk in righteousness.
Father, when we feel weak, remind us that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. When the enemy tries to lure us away from Your will, show us the way out that You have already prepared. Help us to choose obedience over compromise, faith over fear, and holiness over temptation.
Lord, bless our families today. Cover our loved ones with Your protection and keep them strong in moments of testing. Let Your Word live in our hearts so that when temptation comes, Your truth rises within us like a shield.
Today we walk with confidence because we know we are not fighting alone. Your grace sustains us, Your Spirit empowers us, and Your love keeps us secure.
Declaration:
Today I declare that temptation will not control me. God has already made a way of escape. Through His strength I stand firm, I walk in righteousness, and I overcome temptation.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
