Start Over Again
You thought you'd be further along. But starting over isn't failure. It's grace.
You thought you'd be further along by now.
The habit you tried to break came back. The person you tried to be slipped away. The progress you made unraveled.
And now you're starting over. Again.
Starting over feels like failure. But what if it's actually grace?
You are not back at zero. You are beginning with wisdom you didn't have before.
EVERY START IS NEW.
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)
God doesn't roll His eyes when you start over. He meets you there.
Every single time.
Starting over isn't proof you failed. It's proof you're still trying. You learned something the first time. You grew in the attempt. Now you get to take what you know and try again. The restart isn't the enemy. Giving up is.
So start again. Today. Right now. God's already there waiting.
A SIMPLE PRAYER.
God, I'm tired of starting over. But thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. Help me see this restart as grace, not failure. Give me courage to try again with what I've learned. I'm not giving up. I'm beginning again with You. Amen.
