Enjoying Your Work.

God is pleased when you work hard, but He doesn’t base His approval on how much you make or how prestigious your position. Instead, He values your honesty, integrity, patience, and trustworthiness. God looks inward because a heart filled with joy produces peace and fulfillment in all aspects of your life - including work! The Bible says in Philippians 4:11, “Not that I speak in regard of need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.” Although work is needed to provide income for daily living, God doesn’t intend for it to be a drudgery. When you allow Jesus to dwell in your heart, no matter the task, there is joy. Whatever deadlines, household chores, exams, or an endless “to-do list,” do it all for the glory of God. You’ll find your day will go a whole lot better with a song in your heart, even in spite of a demanding boss, irritating co-workers, or an unpleasant task. Instead of dreading getting out of bed in the morning to go to work, take time for spiritual food, pray, and ask God to fill you up to overflowing with His joy. Then, follow God’s advice in Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” Text: Colossians 3:23, Proverbs 16:3, Deuteronomy 2:7, Ephesians 2:10
