𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞 ✍️ “𝘞𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯, 𝘸𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘰 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬— 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘏𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘬.” We know our own hearts. We’ve made promises we couldn’t keep, resolutions we couldn’t sustain, and commitments we abandoned. Many of us know what it feels like to start well yet fear we might fall before the journey ends. Whether we are weary from past failures or anxious about future weakness, the question is not about how tightly we hold God—but about how securely God holds us. Jude ends his short letter with a powerful assurance. 🕮 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝟏:𝟐𝟒 declares, “𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘫𝘰𝘺.” Not able to catch us after we fall—able to keep us from falling. Not able to present us mostly cleaned up—able to present us as faultless. This is not our ability—it is God’s. We are held secure in His hand. “𝘛𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨” means to guard, sustain, and preserve. God does not merely save us and leave us to walk alone—He keeps us. Jude reminds believers that our confidence rests not in our strength, but in God’s keeping power. Like a father holding a child’s hand while crossing a busy street, the safety is not in the child’s grip, but in the father’s hold. Our confidence rests in His faithful care. Scripture declares that God keeps His people. “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘳” (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟏𝟐𝟏:𝟓). “𝘏𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘦” (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟗𝟏:𝟏𝟏). “𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩” (𝟏 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟏:𝟓). “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯” (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟏𝟐𝟏:𝟖). “𝘏𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘴” (𝟏 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝟐:𝟗). God sustains the steps of those who trust Him. Yet this confidence grows in humble walking. “𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘦” (𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝟒:𝟔). “𝘏𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘭” (𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟐𝟖:𝟐𝟔). The believer walks steadily not by self-confidence but by God-confidence. A climber tied to a strong rope does not boast in his balance—he trusts the rope that holds him. So, we return to the heart of the matter. Our security rests not in our ability to stand, but in Christ’s ability to keep us. He said, “𝘕𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏𝟎:𝟐𝟖). The very hands that were pierced for our salvation are strong enough to keep us to the end. Where does your confidence rest today? You do not need Christ merely to forgive your past—you need Him to keep your future. Stop trusting your grip on God; rest in His grip on you. Will you walk in fearful uncertainty, or will you walk forward in humble confidence that Christ is keeping you? 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, thank You for keeping my steps when I am weak. Strengthen my confidence in Your power, not my own. Guard my walk, steady my heart, and hold me close. Help me trust Your keeping grace each day. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
