Lent Day 29 – It Is Finished
Scripture: “When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” — John 19:30

Thought Of The Day...
Three powerful words were spoken from the cross: “It is finished.” These were not words of defeat, but words of victory. In that moment, Jesus completed the mission the Father had given Him. The price for sin was fully paid. The debt humanity could never repay was canceled by the sacrifice of Christ.
The phrase Jesus used carries the meaning of “paid in full.” Nothing else needs to be added to the work of salvation. No amount of human effort, religious striving, or personal goodness could ever complete what Jesus already finished on the cross.
Because of the cross, forgiveness is available. Because of the cross, shame no longer has authority. Because of the cross, the enemy’s accusations have been silenced. Jesus did not say “I am finished.” He said “It is finished.” The suffering ended, but the victory had just begun.
As believers, we often live as if we must fight for a victory that Christ has already secured. But the truth of the Gospel is this: we do not fight for victory—we fight from victory. The cross settled the matter. The resurrection confirmed it. Our role now is to walk daily in the freedom, authority, and grace that Christ has already purchased.
This Lenten season reminds us that the cross was not the end of hope—it was the completion of God’s redemptive plan. What Jesus finished on Calvary opened the door for new life, restored relationship with God, and eternal salvation.

Prayer...
Heavenly Father, I come before You with a grateful heart, thanking You for the finished work of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for loving me enough to send Him to the cross to bear the weight of my sins and the sins of the world. Lord, I acknowledge that there is nothing I could ever do to earn the salvation that You freely gave through Christ. Your grace is greater than my failures, and Your mercy is deeper than my mistakes.
Father, help me to fully embrace the truth that the work of redemption has already been completed. When the enemy tries to remind me of my past, remind my heart that Jesus already paid the price. When guilt or shame attempts to rise up within me, help me stand firmly on the truth that the blood of Christ has washed me clean.
Lord, teach me to live each day in the victory that Jesus secured on the cross. Help me to stop striving in my own strength and instead rest in the power of Your grace. Strengthen my faith so that I walk confidently as a redeemed child of God, knowing that I am forgiven, restored, and made new.
Fill my heart with gratitude for the sacrifice of Christ. Let my life reflect His love, His humility, and His obedience. Empower me by Your Holy Spirit to live in a way that honors the price that was paid for my freedom. May my words, my actions, and my choices glorify You.
Father, help me share the message of the finished work of the cross with others who are searching for hope and freedom. Let my life be a testimony that Jesus saves, restores, and redeems completely.
Thank You, Lord, that through Jesus Christ my sins are forgiven, my chains are broken, and my future is secure in You. I praise You for the victory of the cross and the promise of eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration...
I live from victory, not for victory. Christ has already finished the work, and I walk in His completed redemption.
