HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

We often spend our lives trying to hide our weaknesses. We live in a culture that prizes strength, self-sufficiency, and the ability to have it all together. Because of this, we can feel deeply discouraged when we encounter our own limitations, whether they are physical, emotional, or spiritual. We tend to think that God can only use us when we are at our best.

However, this scripture turns our human logic upside down. We are reminded that God’s grace is not just a safety net for when we fail, it is a sufficient, all-encompassing provision that is designed to meet us exactly where we are the weakest.

In our moments of greatest vulnerability, we actually have the greatest opportunity to see God move. When we reach the end of our own strength, we finally stop relying on ourselves and start relying on Him. His power is made perfect in our weakness because, in those moments, there is no mistaking whose strength is sustaining us.

We don't have to be ashamed of our struggles or try to mask our inadequacies. Instead, we can join with the Apostle Paul in boasting about them, knowing that our emptiness is simply the space where Christ’s power comes to rest.

Today, let’s stop viewing our weaknesses as obstacles to God’s work and start seeing them as invitations for His grace. We can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that we don’t have to be strong enough for the challenges ahead of us.

We simply need to be honest about our need for Him. When we acknowledge our limitations, we allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us in ways we never could on our own. Let’s lean into His sufficiency today, trusting that His grace is more than enough to carry us through whatever we face.

God bless you!
