In my social media memories last night, I ran across something I had written several years ago. Except for a few spelling and grammatical errors, the idea was sound. I giggle because it seems like God is always talking to me about the choices that I make. My topics are surrounded by that little word … choice. We all have the free will to make sound or not sound choices. We all have the ability to choose where we place our steps next. What the enemy seems to hone in on is once we make the choice … good or bad … the enemy has a counter thought for that choice … then plays heavily on his perception.
When I was training new people, I would show them the book way, then my way, explaining that my way helps me stay on track better and does not break the book way. I also explain that ‘their’ boss may have a different way and that they must obey their boss. Then I explain that if the student chooses to do it differently, they are solely responsible for their choice. Not me. They have a choice, and if they choose my way, then they accept the risk. Somehow, in this walk with Jesus, we do not seem to adhere to that particular concept of … “I made this choice of my own free will, and it is my responsibility to own it. John made me. It was Dawn’s idea. I didn’t want to, but they forced me.” The realization is this: none of that will matter when we are standing before Him on judgment day. He is only going to see our actions. He is not going to talk to me about what Paul did; he is going to talk to me about what Karalee did.
Today, I pray that I make the right choices. That I make the choices that glorify Him. That my choices are that He has directed my footsteps and that I do not deviate from them. Will you do the same? The choice is yours.
