The Great Physician.

“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.” Psalm 5:3

Have you ever had a doctor’s appointment and had to wait for what seemed like hours? Don’t you just hate that?

I have a standing appointment with a doctor every day—with no waiting! I meet with Him early, every morning, while it’s still dark outside. He’s always ready to meet with me, no matter how early or late. He is the Great Physician and He is available at any time.

It’s what gets me out of bed in the morning. Every morning around three, I grab my hot beverage and go into His “office,” my prayer closet. I tell Him everything, and He’s such a good listener. Sometimes, though, He lets me know that I didn’t do something I should have done, or maybe I did something I shouldn’t have. I try to listen and I promise to do better.

We talk about people I know—not in a gossiping way, though. We talk about how they need His touch, how they are hurting. He already knows, but He listens anyway. Then He assures me that it will be okay, even though it doesn’t always seem so to me.

I tell Him my heart desires, and He tells me His. I read His Word and we talk about it, and sometimes I even sing to Him, but not too often, because I am sure that’s not pleasant to hear, especially so early. (I don’t know why He hasn’t given me that gift.) I apologize for the unpleasant noise, but the words are what matter. He doesn’t mind though, and sometimes, we laugh about it. He is my everything, and during this time of the morning, I feel like I am His everything, too.

My Great Physician is Jesus. He is perfect in every medical field. What about you? In what areas do you need healing? Are you carrying a heavy burden and sick of the life you’ve been living? Perhaps you’re in need of physical healing. No matter—mind, body or soul, He is able. And the best part is that He treats His patients all the same—and always has an opening for new ones! He doesn’t turn anyone away, no matter how sick or broken they are.

“And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.” Matthew 12:15
