The three biggest lies Satan tells people to pull them into Hell:
1. "You're good enough to make it into Heaven."
No one can make it into Heaven by being good (Eph. 2:8-9), especially because there are no good people. "No one is good except God alone" (Mark 10:18).
2. "You're saved because you prayed a prayer when you were younger."
You’re saved only if you repent of your sins and trust in Jesus...repeating a prayer doesn’t save anyone (Acts 3:19; John 3:16). God isn't looking for the right words, he's looking for a genuine heart.
3. "God is all-loving. He'll forgive you."
God is love, but he's love isn't all he is. He’s also wrathful (John 3:36), holy, and just (Psalm 7:11-13), and will punish all evildoers for every sin they’ve ever committed (2 Cor. 5:10; Matt. 12:36).
The only people who will escape God’s wrath in Hell and receive forgiveness are those who place their trust in Jesus, who bore God’s wrath in our place on the cross (Is. 53:10; Col. 2:13-14).
