When baby sea turtles hatch beneath the sand, they do not wander in confusion. They erupt from the nest and immediately head in the correct direction, racing toward the ocean with precision and urgency. They do this at night, guided by the natural brightness over the horizon, the reflection of moonlight on the water, and the slope of the beach itself. Within minutes of life, with no parents to guide them and no learning period, they know where to go. This is not trial and error. This is instinct fully formed from the very beginning.

But the mystery deepens once they reach the water. Hatchlings do not simply swim randomly. They lock into ocean currents and later return decades afterward to the very region where they were born. Studies show they imprint on Earth’s magnetic field, using it as a built-in navigation system. Their tiny brains register magnetic intensity and inclination like a living compass. They are born with a biological GPS already calibrated to the planet. There is no classroom. No rehearsal. No gradual training phase. The system works immediately or the animal dies.

This creates a serious problem for evolutionary explanations. Navigation systems only function when complete. A half-formed magnetic sense is useless. A partially tuned compass sends an animal in the wrong direction and leads to death. Natural selection cannot favor a system that does not work until it is finished. Sea turtles require the full package at birth or they do not survive at all. Scripture tells us God gives creatures what they need to fulfill their purpose. The sea turtle obeys that design without question. Evolution offers guesses. Creation offers an answer.
