We’ve often read the moment in John 13 where Jesus says, “What you are going to do, do quickly,” and assumed He was simply speaking to Judas.

But look again.

The moment Judas takes the bread, Scripture says Satan entered him.

This is no longer just betrayal it’s a spiritual collision.

And yet Jesus doesn’t panic.
He doesn’t resist.
He doesn’t delay.

He speaks.

“What you are going to do, do quickly.”

At first glance, it almost sounds like permission but it’s not.

Jesus is not surrendering control to Satan.
He is commanding the moment forward.

Just like in Book of Job, where Satan could not act without God’s authority, here too, nothing moves unless heaven allows it.

But this moment goes even deeper.

Jesus isn’t just allowing an attack

He is stepping into the very plan that will destroy the attacker.

From the beginning, it was written
in Genesis 3:15 that the serpent would strike
but his head would be crushed.

Satan thought he was initiating victory.

But he was walking straight into defeat.

On a cross.

At the exact moment Jesus ordained.

This wasn’t chaos.
This wasn’t loss.
This wasn’t the enemy taking ground.

This was the King stepping forward into His hour.

Not as a victim
but as the author of redemption.

Jesus didn’t give Satan control.

He gave the signal that the end of darkness had begun.

The enemy thought it was his moment
but it was the moment God had already written as his defeat.
