A NUGGET OF TRUTH.
FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD.
Many today think salvation means we can ignore obedience to God's law, as if the law were done away with. But true faith always produces fruit. Obedience to God is not how we earn salvation — it is the evidence that we are saved.
Think of it this way: Where is the love for your spouse if you say you love them but do nothing for them? True love is shown through action, just as true faith is shown through works.
As James reminds us:
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." (James 2:17)
Paul explains that we are saved by grace, not by works, yet:
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
Faith and works cannot be separated:
"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works." (James 2:18)
Let your life show that your faith is real through the works you do. A faith that does nothing is lifeless.
