Keep your fire burning

Leviticus 6:12-13
And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
As I was looking in this week’s Torah portion, I saw a couple of things but what really jumped out to me is Leviticus 6:12-13.
We see that the priest had to put wood on the fire every morning to keep it burning. This really stood out to me because It’s an example of the Holy Spirit within us. We need to keep the spirit of YHWH burning in us. We need to have a daily prayer life.
We see in John 16:7 it says that Messiah had to die so He could send the comforter, the Holy Spirit, to us. We also see in John 14:16 that Messiah prayed that YHWH would give us another comforter, again the Holy Spirit, that he may abide with you for ever. In John 14:26 it says “he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” It also says in John 15:26 “But when the Comforter is come…he shall testify of me”.
So, we see, just like the priest had to keep the fire burning, we need to keep the Holy Spirit alive within us.
