WE ARE UNDER GRACE

“For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”
Romans 6:14

In our journey of faith, we often feel like we are in a constant tug-of-war with our old habits, mistakes, and shortcomings. It can be easy to feel like we are failing at being good enough or that we are constantly falling short of a set of rules. However, this scripture delivers a declaration of independence for every believer.

We are told that sin is no longer our master. We have been bought with a price, and our ownership has changed. We are no longer living under the heavy weight of the law, which shows us our sin but cannot save us from it, but we are living under grace.

Living under grace means that the power of God's favor is now the roof over our heads and the ground under our feet. Under the law, we were defined by our performance and our failures. Under grace, we are defined by God's love and Christ’s victory.

Grace does not give us a license to do whatever we want. Rather, it gives us the power to do what we could never do on our own. It breaks the chains of shame and the cycle of defeat. When we realize that God is for us and that His favor is not based on our perfect behavior, we find a new kind of strength to turn away from the things that used to master us.

Today, let’s walk in the reality of our freedom. If you feel the pull of an old habit or the weight of condemnation, remind yourself, I am not under the law; I am under grace. Grace is not just a passive cover for our sins, it is an active power that changes our desires and empowers our will.

We can face this day with hope because our Master is no longer our sin, but a Savior who leads us with kindness and strengthens us with His Spirit. You are free to live, free to love, and free to serve the One who has set you under the canopy of His eternal grace.

God bless you!
