There are parts of the Bible that are hard to read stories like Lot, or Judges 19. They confront us. They unsettle us.

But they are not there to make God look bad.
They are there to show us what life looks like when He is removed from the centre.

When everyone does what is right in their own eyes
When truth becomes subjective
When desire outweighs conscience
When self is placed on the throne

We don’t become free we become lost.

The Israelites were God’s people, yet they allowed the influences around them to shape them.
They drifted, and in that drift they lost the covering and protection of walking with Him.
They fell into idol worship and separation from God.

When they rejected Him as their King, they chose a man instead
and suddenly they were bound to the needs, demands, and desires of that king.

And if we’re honest, we are not so different today.

Society tells us we’ve outgrown God.
That we know too much.
That He only limits us.

But that is a lie.

Because I have found the opposite to be true.

Following Jesus has brought more life and freedom than I have ever known.
He didn’t restrict me He rescued me.
He pulled me out of the pit I was in and made me new through His sacrifice.

And that is why I cannot stay silent.

I am compelled to tell anyone who will listen about my Jesus, my Saviour
the One who still restores, still redeems, still calls people back home.

Easter is not about tradition.
It’s not about chocolate or routine.

It’s about a Saviour who stepped into our brokenness.
A cross that made a way where there was no way.
A love that did not abandon us to ourselves.

And the invitation still stands

Come back.
Come home.
Put Him back on the throne of your heart.

Because where He reigns, life is restored.
