The Irony of Unequal Lives.
Ecclesiastes 5:12
“The sleep of a labouring man is sweet… but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.”
The rich and the poor do not sleep the same way—but neither truly escapes the weight of life.
For the poor, the night is often filled with thoughts of survival—how to eat, how to provide, how to face tomorrow.
For the rich, the night carries a different burden—pressure, responsibility, fear of loss, and the constant need to sustain what has been built.
Different struggles, yet both are heavy.
This is the irony of life: problems do not disappear with status or wealth—they simply change form. What one lacks, another fears losing. What one hopes for, another is burdened to maintain.
In all of this, one truth quietly stands above it all—life is not balanced. It never has been.
But God is.
Only God’s sovereignty remains constant in a world of shifting burdens. Beyond riches or lack, beyond ease or pressure, true peace is not found in what we have—but in who rules over all.
God's Loving Heart.
