GROWING IN THE GRACE
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
2 Peter 3:18
The Christian life is not a static event or a one-time decision, it is a living, breathing journey of development. Just as a plant needs constant sunlight and water to flourish, our spirits need a constant immersion in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
To grow in grace means to become more deeply aware of God’s unmerited favor, letting it settle into our hearts until it changes how we react to failure, how we view our worth, and how we extend kindness to others.
Growing in knowledge is more than just memorizing facts about the Bible, it is about deepening our personal relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ. As we spend time in His Word and in prayer, we begin to recognize His voice and understand His heart.
This growth provides us with a spiritual anchor. When the world around us becomes chaotic or when strange teachings arise, the person who is growing in the knowledge of Jesus remains steady. We aren't easily swayed because we know who our Savior is, and we know the depth of His character.
This growth is not a burden we carry, but a joy we experience. We don't grow to earn God’s love, we grow because we are already loved. The more we see of His beauty and the more we experience His grace, the more we naturally want to give Him glory.
As we look back on this month and forward to the next, let’s make it our primary ambition to know Him better. Whether we take small steps or giant leaps, every bit of growth brings us closer to the life of peace and purpose He has designed for us. To Him be the glory, both now and forever!
