The Rest of His Presence

Exodus 33:14 (NKJV)
And He said, My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.

The Gift of His Presence

After Israel’s sin with the golden calf, God told Moses to lead the people toward the promised land. Moses pleaded with God that he would not go unless the Lord’s presence went with them. God’s answer was simple but powerful: His presence would go with them, and it would bring rest.

This verse reminds us that rest is not found in circumstances, possessions, or achievements. True rest comes from the presence of God. When He is with us, we have peace even in the wilderness. When He leads, we find strength and assurance for the journey ahead.

For believers today, God’s presence is with us through the Holy Spirit. His presence gives peace in uncertainty, strength in weakness, and rest for weary souls.

1. Am I seeking God’s presence daily, or am I trying to walk in my own strength?

2. Where in my life do I need the peace and rest that only His presence can bring?

3. How can I prioritize His presence above all other pursuits?

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for the promise of Your presence. Teach me to seek You daily and to rest in the assurance that You go before me. Fill me with peace and strength as I walk with You. In Jesus name, Amen.
