The God of Mercy and Grace

Scripture

Exodus 34:6 (NKJV)
And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.

God’s Character Revealed

When Moses asked to see God’s glory, the Lord revealed Himself not by showing His full form but by declaring His character. God described Himself as merciful, gracious, patient, good, and true. These qualities form the foundation of His covenant with His people and reveal who He is at His very core.

This moment is one of the clearest revelations of God’s heart in the Old Testament. It shows that His glory is not just in power but in His love and compassion. For believers today, this points us to Christ, the fullness of God revealed, who embodies mercy, grace, and truth.

This verse calls us to trust not only in what God does but in who He is. His character is unchanging, and His mercy and grace are new every morning.

Prayer
