DID YOU KNOW ?
People say the law was abolished at the cross.
But that idea creates a serious problem.
If God could simply set aside His law, why did Jesus have to die?
The cross was not proof that the law was disposable.
It was proof that sin is so serious, and God’s law so unchangeable, that only the death of Christ could deal with its guilt.
Jesus did not die so that rebellion could become acceptable.
He died because the wages of sin is death, and because God’s character and government do not change.
The cross does not abolish the law.
It magnifies both the justice and love of God.
