Fear God Only 2 Chronicles 6:28-Nehemiah 5:15 NKJV
2 Chronicles 6:28-33 "When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;
"whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows his own burden and his own grief, and spreads out his hands to this temple;
"then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of the sons of men),
"that they may fear You, to walk in Your ways as long as they live in the land which You gave to our fathers,
"Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for the sake of Your great name and Your mighty hand and Your outstretched arm, when they come and pray in this temple;
"then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name.
2 Chronicles 14:12-15 So the LORD struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So the Ethiopians were overthrown, and they could not recover, for they were broken before the LORD and His army. And they carried away very much spoil.
Then they defeated all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of the LORD came upon them; and they plundered all the cities, for there was exceedingly much spoil in them.
They also attacked the livestock enclosures, and carried off sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.
2 Chronicles 17:10-11 And the fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so they that did not make war against Jehoshaphat.
Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver as tribute; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred male goats.
2 Chronicles 19:7-9 "Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do it, for there is iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes."
Moreover in Jerusalem, for the judgment of the LORD and for controversies, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the chief fathers of Israel, when they returned to Jerusalem.
And he commanded them, saying, "Thus you shall act in the fear of the LORD, faithfully and with a loyal heart:
2 Chronicles 20:28-30 So they came to Jerusalem, with stringed instruments and harps and trumpets, to the house of the LORD.
And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.
Then the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.
Nehemiah 1:10-11 "Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand.
"O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man."
Nehemiah 5:6-12 And I became very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.
After serious thought, I rebuked the nobles and rulers, and said to them, "Each of you is exacting usury from his brother." So I called a great assembly against them.
And I said to them, "According to our ability we have redeemed our Jewish brethren who were sold to the nations. Now indeed, will you even sell your brethren? Or should they be sold to us?" Then they were silenced and found nothing to say.
Then I said, "What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?
"I also. with my brethren and my servants, am lending them money and grain. Please, let us stop this usury!
"Restore now to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, also a hundredth of the money and the grain, the new wine and the oil, that you have charged them."
So they said, "We will restore it, and will require nothing from them; we will do as you say." Then I called the priests, and required an oath from them that they would do according to this promise.
Nehemiah 5:14-15 Moreover, from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year until the thirty-second year of King Artaxerxes, twelve years, neither I nor my brothers ate the governor's provisions.
But the former governors who were before me laid burdens on the people, and took from them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people, but I did not do so, because of the fear of God.
