Fear God Only Proverbs:1-7- Proverbs 29:25 NKJV Proverbs:1-7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverb 1:25-30 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke. I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes. When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD, They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke. Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 3:7-8 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. Proverbs 8:12-14 "I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength. Proverbs 9:10-12 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone." Proverbs 10:27-29 The fear of the LORD prolongs days, But the years of the wicked will be shortened. The hope of the righteous will be gladness, But the expectation of the wicked will perish. The way of the LORD is strength for the upright, But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity. Proverbs 14:26-27 In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a foundation of life, To turn one away from the snares of death. Proverbs 15:16 Better is a little with the fear of the LORD, Than great treasure with trouble. Proverbs 15:31-33 The ear that hears the rebukes of life Will abide among the wise. He who disdains instruction despises his own soul, But he who heeds rebuke gets understanding. The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. Proverbs 16:6 In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil. Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the LORD leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil. Proverbs 20:2 The wrath of a king is like the roaring of a lion; Whoever provokes him to anger sins against his own life. Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches and honor and life. Proverbs 23:17-18 Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day; For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:21-22 My son, fear the LORD and the king; Do not associate with those given to change; For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin those two can bring? Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.
