Psalm 119 Part 2 of 4 NKJV
"Teach me"
Psalm 119:49-96 Remember the word of Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope.
This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.
The proud have me in great derision, Yet I do not turn aside form Your law.
I remembered Your judgments of old, O Lord, And have comforted myself. Indignation has taken hold of me Because of the wicked, who forsake Your law.
Your statutes have been my songs In the house of my pilgrimage.
I remember Your name in the night, O Lord, And I keep Your law.
This has become mine; Because I kept Your precepts.
You are my portion, O Lord; I have said that I would keep Your words.
I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; Be merciful to me according to Your word.
I thought about my ways, And turned my feet to Your testimonies.
I made haste, and did not delay To keep Your commandments.
The cords of the wicked have bound me, But I have not forgotten Your law.
At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, because of Your righteous judgments.
I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts,
The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy; Teach me Your Statutes.
You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your word,
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, For I believe Your commandments.
Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word.
You are good, and do good; Teach me Your statutes
The proud have forged a lie against me, But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.
Their heart is as fat as grease, But I delight in Your law.
It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes,
The law of Your mouth is better to me Than thousands of coins of gold and silver.
Your hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding that I may learn Your commandments.
Those who fear You will be glad when they see me, because I have hoped in Your word,
I know, O Lord, that your judgments are right, And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me,
Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort, According to Your word to Your servant.
Let your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your law is my delight.
Let the proud be ashamed, For they treated me wrongfully with falsehood; But I will meditate on Your precepts.
Let those who fear You turn to me, Those who know Your testimonies.
Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed.
My soul faints for Your salvation, But I hope in Your word.
My eyes fail from searching Your word, saying, “When will You comfort me?”
For I have become like a wineskin in smoke, Yet I do not forget Your statutes,
How many are the days of Your servant? When will you execute judgment on those who persecute me?
The proud have dug pits for me, Which is not according to Your law.
All Your commandments are faithful; They persecute me wrongfully; Help me!
They almost made an end of me on earth, But I did not forsake Your precepts.
Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.
Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides,
They continue this day according to Your ordinances, For all are Your servants.
Unless Your law had been my delight, I would then have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life.
I am Yours, save me; For I have sought Your precepts.
The wicked wait for me to destroy me, But I will consider Your testimonies.
I have seen the consummation of all perfection, But Your commandment is exceedingly broad.
Romans 15:1-7 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves,
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on me.”
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,
that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore receive one another just as Christ also received us , to the glory of God.
Philippians 1:3-11 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy,
for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace
For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ,
And this I pray, that your love abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,
that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,
being filed with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Hebrews 12:7-11 If you endure chastening, God deals with your as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?
But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.
Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us. And we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, But He for our profit, that we may be of His holiness.
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Psalm 39:1-13 I said, “I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, while the wicked are before me.”
I was mute with silence, I held my peace even from good; And my sorrow was stirred up.
My heart was hot within me; While I was musing, the fire burned, Then I spoke with my tongue.
“Lord, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.
Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor, Selah
Surely every man walks about like a shadow; surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, And does not know who will gather them.
“And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.
Deliver me from all my transgressions; Do not make me the reproach of the foolish.
I was mute, I did not open my mouth, because it was You who did it.
Remove Your plague from me; I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.
When with rebukes You correct man from iniquity, You make his beauty melt away like a moth; Surely every man is vapor. Selah
“Hear my prayer, O Lord, And give ear to my cry; Do not be a silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.
Remove Your gaze from me, that I may regain strength, Before I go away and am no more.”
Romans 10:9-13 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the Scripture says, “whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
