Psalm 1:1-6 Part Three of Three NKJV

Psalm 1:1-6 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 Thus says the Lord; "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord,

For he be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.

"Blessed is he man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord,

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Genesis 39:1-4 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt, And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, and Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.

The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.

So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.

Job 21:17-21 "How often is the lamp of the wicked put out? How often does their destruction come upon them, The sorrows God distributes in His anger?

They are like straw before the wind, And like chaff that a storm carries away.

They say, 'God lays up one's iniquity for his children'; Let Him recompense him, that he may know it.

Let his eyes see his destruction, And let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.

For what does he care about his household after him, When the number of his months is cut in half?

Psalm 37:3-20 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness,

Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

He shall bring forth your righteousness as the Light, And your justice as the noonday.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the the man who brings wicked schemes to pass,

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret--it only causes harm.

For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.

But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.

The Lord laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming.

The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct.

Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.

A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked.

For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous.

The Lord knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever;

They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

But the wicked shall perish; An the enemies of the Lord, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away.
