I am doing a series of posts called Creation Speaks

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭19‬:‭1‬ ‭

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭

Sand – immeasurable, intentional, and held in His hands

Sand speaks quietly, but powerfully, of who God is.

At first glance, it seems small almost insignificant.
Just tiny grains beneath our feet.

But when you begin to notice it
you realise it is immeasurable.

You cannot count it.
You cannot fully comprehend its vastness.

And this is exactly how Scripture uses it.

God spoke to Abraham of descendants as numerous as the sand on the seashore
a promise too vast for the human mind to grasp.

In Psalm 139:17–18, we are told that God’s thoughts toward us are more numerous than the grains of sand.

This is not distant or general.
This is deeply personal.

Every grain becomes a whisper:

He is thinking of you more than you could ever count.
His care is constant.
His attention never ceases.

And yet sand is not only a picture of abundance it is also a boundary.

In Jeremiah 5:22, God says He placed the sand as the boundary for the sea.

Something so small
yet it holds back something so powerful.

It reveals a God of order and authority.

The waves may roar,
but they can only come so far.

Even chaos answers to Him.

Jesus also spoke of sand in Matthew 7.

Not as something to build on,
but as a warning.

Because while sand represents vastness and abundance,
it is not stable enough to carry the weight of a life.

Without a firm foundation, everything shifts.

So in the same picture, we see both:
• the immeasurable nature of God
• and the invitation to build our lives on something unshakable

Each grain of sand seems weightless.

But together, they carry great weight.

What appears small becomes powerful when gathered.

And even more
sand, under intense heat, is transformed into glass.

Clear. Refined. Useful. Beautiful.

What was once scattered and ordinary
becomes something that reveals light.

What it reveals about God

He is:
• immeasurable in His thoughts toward you
• intentional in His design
• sovereign over chaos
• attentive to both the vast and the smallest detail

He is the Master Craftsman
forming mountains and shaping every grain beneath your feet.

Nothing is overlooked.
Nothing is without purpose.
