“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭19‬:‭1‬ ‭

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭

The Vine and the Branches – life flows through connection

Jesus said:

“I am the vine… you are the branches.” (John 15)

It’s a simple picture
but it reveals something essential.

A branch has no life of its own.

It does not produce fruit by striving.
It does not sustain itself by effort.

Everything it needs flows from the vine.

To be a branch is to be dependent.

Life.
Strength.
Nourishment.
Growth.

All of it comes from staying connected.

Jesus calls this “abiding”

remaining in Him,
staying close,
living in continual relationship.

When a branch is connected, fruit comes naturally.

Not forced.
Not manufactured.

It is the result of life flowing through it.

Love.
Obedience.
Faithfulness.
A life that reflects Him.

But when a branch is disconnected

it withers.

It cannot sustain itself.
It cannot produce fruit.

It may still look like part of the vine for a moment
but without connection, life fades.

Jesus also speaks of the Gardener
God the Father.

He tends the vine.

He prunes the branches.

Not to harm them
but to make them more fruitful.

Sometimes this comes through:
• seasons of stretching
• refining
• removing what no longer belongs

It can feel like loss
but it is actually preparation for greater growth.

We are not independent.

We are grafted in
joined to Christ.

He is the True Vine.

The source of all life, truth, and strength.

And through Him, life flows into us.

This is what it means to follow Jesus:

Not just knowing about Him
but being connected to Him.

Not just believing in Him
but abiding in Him.

And when we remain in Him,
His life shapes ours.

What He is
begins to be formed in us.

The fruit is not the result of striving harder
but of staying nearer.

For apart from Him,
we can do nothing.

But in Him,
life flows.
Fruit grows.
And what is connected to Him
becomes full of life.
