Faith is the substance of everything in the spiritual life.

Whether it’s success, breakthrough, prayer, worship, or even life itself—faith is the key element. It is what starts things, and it is what carries them to completion.

But the truth is, faith by itself doesn’t create anything.

Jesus is the beginning and the end. He is the one who starts and finishes everything. Whether someone believes it or not, He is still the one at work.

So what is faith then?

Faith is simply believing that He is the one doing it.

But let’s be honest—sometimes it’s very hard to believe.

Delays happen. Pressure builds. Situations don’t change. And slowly, faith starts to feel distant.

So what do you do when you don’t feel like believing anymore?

The simplest answer is—love.

John loved Jesus deeply, but more than that, he was confident that Jesus loved him. Even though Jesus loves everyone, John made it personal. He took ownership of that love. He chose to abide in it.

And love does something powerful—it casts out fear.

When fear leaves, something shifts inside you. You begin to feel accepted. You begin to feel secure. And from that place, faith rises again… naturally.

Not forced. Not pressured. Just real.

So if you’re struggling to believe right now, don’t start with faith.

Start with love.

Remind yourself that He sees you. He knows you. He hasn’t forgotten you. He is El Roi—the God who sees.

And He loves you.

Maybe the answer isn’t to try harder to believe…

Maybe it’s just to love Him back.
