To “cause someone to Stumble” means: To trip them spiritually. To lead them into sin. To distort Truth. To weaken their faith. To push them away from Jesus instead of toward Him.
This is Not small in the eyes of God. Jesus says it would be better to die a horrific death than to stand before Him having led others astray. That should stop every single one of us in our tracks.
HOW DO WE CAUSE OTHERS TO STUMBLE?
This doesn’t just happen in obvious ways. It often happens subtly through the flesh, pride, and lack of surrender.
THROUGH HYPOCRISY. Saying one thing but living another. Claiming Jesus but walking in willful sin. This confuses people and makes them question the Truth.
THROUGH FALSE TEACHING or TWISTING SCRIPTURE. Watering down sin. Preaching comfort over repentance. Using Scripture out of context. This leads people into deception instead of Freedom.
THROUGH PRIDE AND HARSHNESS. Correcting without Love. Speaking Truth without the Spirit. Wanting to be right more than wanting souls saved.
Truth without Love can wound instead of heal. Through Legalism or Control. Adding burdens God did Not place. Forcing outward behavior without heart transformation. This can push people away from Jesus instead of drawing them near.
THROUGH LEADING BY THE FLESH INSTEAD OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Speaking when God didn’t say speak. Acting out of emotion, offense, or ego. Trying to “fix” people in our own strength. This creates damage instead of Deliverance.
IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO CONVICT
This is where many get it wrong. We think it’s our job to Convict hearts, Force change, Pressure repentance. But that is Not our role!

BE LED BY THE SPIRIT
We must be led by the Holy Spirit, Not emotions; Truth, Not compromise; Love, Not pride. Because the goal is Not to win arguments. The Goal is for people to be Saved, Healed, Delivered, Set Free!
