UNASHAMED OF CHRIST

Scripture Text:
Mark 8:38 ```“If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”```
Matthew 10:32–33 “```Whoever acknowledges Me before others, I will also acknowledge before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before others, I will disown before My Father in heaven.”```

Jesus makes it clear. There is no middle ground. We either stand for Him or we shrink back.
And honestly, our generation is not far from what He described. It is easy to feel like standing for Christ makes you look strange, outdated, or even extreme. In such a world, the greatest battle is often not open sin, but the quiet fear within.

The Fear of Man
Many believers do not deny Christ with their words, but with their silence. Not because they hate Him, but because they fear people (Proverbs 29:25).
This fear shows up when you are around influential people, when you are in spaces where Christ is not honored, or when speaking about your faith might cost you acceptance (John 12:42–43).
Little by little, boldness fades, conviction weakens, and faith becomes private when it was meant to be lived openly (Romans 1:16). That is why Scripture warns us so strongly.

Jesus did not call us to blend in. He called us to stand out (Matthew 5:14–16).
Even when immorality is normalized, truth is compromised, and righteousness is mocked, we are still called to stand firm (Ephesians 6:13).
Our faith is not meant to adjust to culture (Romans 12:2). We are meant to shine as lights in the darkness.

Sometimes fear becomes strongest when we stand before people who seem successful in this world, those with wealth, influence, and status (Psalm 49:16–17). In those moments, there is pressure to tone things down and fit in.
But material success is not eternal. It does not carry authority before God (Mark 8:36). Never allow what is temporary to silence what is eternal.

The same Christ you confess in private must be the Christ you stand for in public, no matter who is watching.

So what do we do?
We do not rely on our own strength, because fear is real. But God has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). Instead, we pray and depend on Him.

“Lord, give us power and boldness (Acts 4:29).
Let us never be controlled by the fear of people.
Help us to stand firm in the midst of wickedness, unashamed and unwavering in our faith.
And when we stand before those who seem successful in material things, help us not to be intimidated or silent, but to boldly declare our trust in You.
Let our confidence be rooted in You alone.”

At the end of it all, one moment will matter, when we stand before God (2 Corinthians 5:10).
May it never be said that we were ashamed. May it be said that we stood for Christ.

So stand, believer.
Stand in your school.
Stand in your workplace.
Stand among friends.
Stand everywhere God has placed you.

Be unashamed of Christ. And share Him with the world.
