The Train of His Robe
As I was praying before the service, I saw a temple.
Tall white columns stood on either side, and between them was a long staircase rising upward. It felt holy, set apart, not something ordinary, but a place of His presence.
As I looked, I saw the steps leading up into what I knew were the courts of the temple.
And then I saw it.
The train of His robe.
It flowed from above, stretching all the way down the staircase, filling the steps. It wasn’t just at the top, it covered the entire way. Every step was touched by it.
At the same time, the music team was practicing, and the song spoke of His robe filling the temple.
And in that moment, something connected in my spirit.
I thought about the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment.
She didn’t need to reach His face.
She didn’t need to stand before Him.
She touched the very edge, the hem, and power flowed. Healing came. Restoration came. Everything she needed was released through that small point of contact.
And I realised
The train of His robe that fills the temple is not just a picture of His glory.
It is a picture of His overflow.
Just like the hem of His garment carried healing, the train of His robe carries His presence, His power, His restoration.
And as we come into worship, as we step into the courts of praise, we are not walking into something empty, waiting for Him to arrive.
We are walking through His presence.
Step by step, as we draw near, we are moving through the train of His robe.
And in that place, there is healing.
There is freedom.
There is redemption.
There is restoration.
Not just at the “top.”
Not just when we feel like we have finally reached Him.
But along the way.
Every step is filled.
Every step carries Him.
We do not have to strive to get to Him.
Even the edges of His presence are enough to transform us.
As we come into worship, we are invited to encounter Him, not just sing about Him.
To walk into His presence, and in doing so, receive everything He so freely pours out.
