Not Too Late
There are few things in life where you can have a real “do-over!” For instance, if a loved one dies, it’s too late to say, “I’m sorry,” or words spoken in anger can not be “unsaid,” and if someone dies because you were texting and driving . . . well, you can’t raise them from the dead, nor can you get back the precious years you missed with your children because you spent all your time concentrating on “your” life. However, there is redemption in Jesus Christ. You can’t fix things, but God can! When you come to Him and ask for forgiveness, He forgives and wipes your slate clean! He gives you a do-over, allowing you to start your life over again, cleansed from all unrighteousness. The Bible says in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” That word “purify” is especially reassuring! And in Acts 3:19 we’re told, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Yes, whatever mistakes you’ve made, “what’s done is done,” but God can change your future, and He can even change the way you feel about your past. With forgiveness, all guilt is removed, and that hopeless feeling is gone! It’s not too late for God to give you a do-over, so why not start by asking Him today! Text: Isaiah 1:18, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 1:7, Micah 7:18-19
