​In today’s first reading (Acts 7:51-8:1), we witness the powerful, final testimony of St. Stephen. He speaks a hard truth to those gathered: "You stiff-necked people... you always oppose the Holy Spirit!" Stephen highlights a tragic cycle—God sends a vision of the "Righteous One," but the people, stuck in their old ways and hardened by tradition, reject the very thing meant to save them.
