And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. [14] When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: [15] and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. -Matthew 2:13–15

Thought Of The Day...
In this passage, we see something deeply humbling—Jesus, the Savior of the world, begins His life as a refugee/ Immigrant. A divine warning comes to Joseph in a dream, and in the middle of the night, he gathers Mary and the child and flees to Egypt to escape the murderous intent of King Herod.
This is not the kind of story we expect for the King of Kings.
There is no palace.
No protection from earthly power.
No immediate triumph.
Instead, there is urgency, danger, displacement, and uncertainty.
Yet—God is in it.
Egypt was not random. It was not a mistake. It was part of God’s divine plan to preserve, protect, and position Jesus for what was to come. What looked like retreat was actually strategic movement under divine direction.
Sometimes God will lead you into places that feel unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or even unwanted. You may find yourself in a season that looks nothing like what you expected—relocation, loss, delay, or disruption. But just like Joseph, your obedience in the unknown becomes the covering for what God is protecting in your life.
Jesus’ journey reminds us of this truth:
Being in God’s will does not always look like being in a comfortable place.
There are seasons where survival is the assignment.
There are moments when obedience matters more than understanding.
And there are times when God hides you—not to abandon you—but to preserve you.
Egypt, in Scripture, often symbolizes a place of bondage. But here, it becomes a place of refuge. God can transform what seems like a place of hardship into a place of safety.
So if you feel displaced, overlooked, or in a season that doesn’t make sense—remember this:
God knows exactly where you are, and He has already gone before you.

Something to Think About...
• Where in your life do you feel like you’re in an “Egypt” season?
• Can you trust that God is still leading—even when it feels like you’re just trying to survive?
Prayer...
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that even when life feels uncertain, You are still in control. When I find myself in unfamiliar places, give me the faith to trust Your direction. Help me to obey even when I don’t understand, and to believe that You are preserving something greater in me.
Lord, if I am in a season that feels like Egypt, let me see it through Your eyes—not as a place of defeat, but as a place of protection. Strengthen me to endure, guide me with Your wisdom, and cover me with Your peace.
Just as You were with Jesus and His family, be with me now. Lead me, protect me, and prepare me for what is ahead.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration...
I declare that even in unfamiliar seasons, God is leading me.
I am not lost—I am being guided.
I am not abandoned—I am being protected.
What looks like delay is divine direction.
And where God has placed me, His purpose will prevail.
