Devotional Title: The Pen Is Still in Your Hand!
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." — Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
Thought Of The Day...
The image reveals a powerful truth: darkness may try to influence your story, but it does not control it. The enemy may whisper fear, replay your past, and try to convince you that your failures define you—but he does not hold the pen.
Too many people live as if their story has already been written by mistakes, pain, or what others have spoken over them. But God declares something greater. Through Him, your story is not over—it is being rewritten with purpose.
The crossed-out words—fear, regret, past pain, and lies—are the very things God is calling you to release. And in their place: faith, purpose, hope, and victory. This is the transformation that happens when you surrender your life to God and renew your mind with His truth.
The enemy may try to suggest edits, but he has no authority to finalize your story. God alone is the Author and Finisher of your faith.
"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Friday Application...
Make a decision today to stop revisiting what God has already redeemed. Refuse to let your past narrate your future. Speak life. Walk in obedience. And trust that God is actively writing a better chapter for your life.
Prayer...
Heavenly Father,
I come before You today, thanking You that my life is not left in the hands of my past or the plans of the enemy. Lord, You are the Author of my story, and I surrender every chapter to You.
Forgive me for the times I have believed lies over Your truth, when I allowed fear, regret, and pain to shape my thinking. Today, I release every negative word, every past mistake, and every burden that has tried to hold me captive.
Lord, renew my mind and strengthen my heart. Help me to walk in faith and not fear. Write Your purpose across my life. Turn my pain into power, my struggles into strength, and my trials into testimonies.
Close every door the enemy has tried to open, and silence every voice that does not align with Your will. Fill me with Your peace, Your direction, and Your power. Let my life reflect Your glory in every way.
From this day forward, I trust You with my story. Lead me, guide me, and continue the work You have begun in me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration...
I declare that my story is not defined by my past, my pain, or the lies of the enemy. God is writing my life with purpose, hope, and victory. I choose faith over fear, truth over lies, and purpose over regret. I am a new creation in Christ, and my future is in His hands. The devil does not have the pen—God does. And by His grace, I will walk boldly into the story He has written for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
